One month has passed once again. Time is going by so fast these days, or is it just me? Anyways, it was a crazy month for my portfolio. It looks like this is the theme for 2021. I don’t mind it of course, as long as it is the ‘positive crazy’. This could possibly be the best month for my portfolio so far. Just remember that not every day is smooth sailing. My portfolio goes up or down by thousands a day which is not always fun. Let’s get into the portfolio update for March 2021.
Don’t forget that you can always find an up-to-date overview of all the ‘numbers’ in my portfolio on the My Portfolio page.
Portfolio overview
This month was not as volatile as last month. In February, my portfolio went down €12.000 in the last week. We were still in the green though! In March, my biggest downturn was -€4000 in one day. This is a pretty decent swing if you take into account that I make around €2000 net each month. That being said, the end result of this month is the best I’ve had so far. we are up around €14.000! This is almost the same as the total amount of money I had when I started the monthly recordings in my spreadsheet at the end of September 2019. I can already start dreaming of that €100.000 mark. Let’s not cheer too soon though.
Not much changed in my cryptocurrency portfolio. Except for the fact that it keeps performing very well. I still believe that 2021 will keep bringing good news for Bitcoin and the crypto world in general. Only time will tell how high the price will go.
Monthly Cash-flow
My monthly cash flow is still the same. The same story as last month is true. I saved a bit more cash than usual because of some plans that are in the pipeline. I also spend some money on camping gear which made me same a bit less as well.
Portfolio Allocation
- Cash: Saved €1000
- Stocks: Invested €500 – €1009.27 appreciation (!)
- Crypto: Invested €100 – €11633.65 appreciation (!!!)
There is just no brake on my cryptocurrency investments at the moment. Of course, the biggest question is how long this will last. Like I’ve mentioned before, I do believe 2021 will continue to be a good year. But keep in mind, nobody knows this for sure, the least of all me!
All I can do is stick to my plan and keep investing. The bigger my portfolio gets, the bigger the swings I have to weather as well. I am at a point where my net worth could easily go down in any given month. Even when I save €1500-€2000. Fortunately, this has never happened before but I know very well that it is inevitable.
Overview
This was it for my portfolio update of March 2021. As you can see, I can’t complain at all. The tone for 2021 is certainly set in the first 3 months. Do you think this will continue? We’ll see!
